Hydraulic Canal Papers, 1853-1856, bulk: 1853-1854
Scope and Contents
These papers consist of payrolls, time books, bills, a worker's letter of recommendation, correspondence, accounts, etc. The note with the papers says "The canal was a leading reason for the development of industrial Niagara. In later years, it carried water to the Schoellkopf electrical generating stations. In the 1960's it was filled in when the current power plants were built."
