Schoellkopf Station, ALCOA, 1915-1919
Scope and Contents
A series of black-and-white silver gelatin fiber-based photographs of the Niagara Falls Hydroelectric Power and Manufacturing Company (The Schoellkopf). Photographs are dated and numbered (2278-2999). Photographs show: construction, workers, buildings, train cars, the canal, early machinery, upper and lower bank construction work, Station 3B and 3C, a barge with a small boat filled with dynamite (#2904, 3/29/1919), The Niagara Falls Power Co. Employment Office, Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa), Paul Schoellkopf Sr. as a boy in many images, Rogers Silverware Plant in background (#2956, 5/3/1919), electric lights, a wood shop (#2627), old mill still at top of bank (2551) from Edward T. Williams Collection, Station B (2548, 7/12/1918), penstocks, generator and more. Boxes Z-27-Z-33 contain images from this era.
