Kennecott
In 1977 Kennecott acquired Carborundum for $568 millon. Many of the stockholders at Kennecott thought that was too high and tried to block the aquisition. By 1978, Curtiss-Wright owned 9.9% of Kennecott's stock. SOHIO bought Kennecott sometime in the 80s.
